Wenyi Zheng, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy at Chongqing Medical University and a Research Specialist at the Department of Laboratory Medicine, Karolinska Institute. Trained in pharmacy, pharmacology, and medical sciences, Dr. Zheng has developed an interdisciplinary research profile integrating bioengineering, nanomedicine, and translational drug delivery. Her work focuses on the design and functionalization of extracellular vesicles as precision delivery platforms for therapeutic proteins, gene-editing systems, and nanomaterials, with applications in cancer therapy, inflammatory diseases, cardiovascular disorders, and rare diseases. She has led and contributed to multiple competitively funded research projects supported by major academic and foundation grants, reflecting strong international recognition of her scientific contributions. Dr. Zheng has extensive experience in preclinical research and has served as a technical consultant in global rare disease programs within the pharmaceutical industry.
