Professor Liu Guoping is a distinguished scholar and expert in veterinary medicine with extensive contributions to animal health management and disease prevention. Currently serving as a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Animal Science, Yangtze University, he also holds multiple leadership positions, including Director of the Black Pig Research Institute, Director of the Hubei Gongfu Pig Breeding Technology Innovation Center, and Deputy Director of the Environmental Control Innovation Platform under the Provincial Collaborative Innovation Center for Healthy Pig Breeding. His research focuses on early warning, prevention, and eradication of major swine diseases such as African swine fever, PRRS, pseudorabies, and parvovirus. He has pioneered the development of microbial-driven technologies for selenium-rich pig breeding and promoted eco-friendly agricultural models integrating “two farms and one factory.” Professor Liu has applied for invention patents, forming a robust technology protection network. His team has achieved remarkable results in technology and established strategic partnerships with prominent enterprises such as Hubei Gongfu Animal Husbandry Co., Sinopharm Group Animal Health Co., and Jiahe Agricultural and Animal Husbandry Group. A prolific researcher with 25 published documents, 280 citations, and an h-index of 11, he has been recognized with multiple honors, including the Third Prize of the Hubei Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award. His pioneering work has been widely featured in People’s Daily, China Education Daily, and Southern Rural News, highlighting his impactful role in promoting rural revitalization and global cooperation in animal health.
