Dr. Kalpana Mandal is an accomplished biophysicist and biomedical engineer specializing in cell mechanics, biomaterials, tissue engineering, microfluidics, and organ-on-a-chip technologies. She earned her Ph.D. in Physics for Life Sciences from Grenoble University, France, following her M.Sc. in Physics from IIT Kanpur, India. Currently an Affiliate Researcher at the Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation and Principal Scientist at KyberX LLC, she has previously contributed to advanced cellular engineering projects at Pandorum Technologies and biomaterial research at the University of Pennsylvania under Prof. Paul A. Janmey. Dr. Mandal’s research excellence is reflected in her over 46 scientific publications, 1,481 citations, and an h-index of 22. Her pioneering studies on mechanotransduction and engineered microenvironments have advanced understanding of disease modeling and regenerative medicine.
